Youth Ministry
Director: Missy Gregor

The Luther League Committee consists of volunteer League Advisors, the Youth Ministry Director, Pastor and any other individuals who are interested in guiding the youth program at St. John.  We meet about once every six weeks to review the events that have been held, plan future events, and establish policies related to the youth activities at St. John.

The Mission of St. John’s Youth Program is...  To build and inspire a new generation of Christian Youth… alive in their faith, strong in their beliefs and committed to reaching others for Jesus Christ.

Our Goal is to prepare age appropriate programming designed to provide a mix of fun, service, and worship.  Through these activities we hope to accomplish our mission, develop new leadership in the Church, and provide a place for Christian fellowship for youth and their families.

The work of the Luther League Committee includes…

Encouraging and providing information to families interested in Bible Camp – many youth attend Camp Omega in Waterville, MN

Providing service learning opportunities for youth of all ages – packaging meals through Feed My Starving Children, serving supper to families at a Ronald McDonald House, packaging baskets for shut-in members of our community, and raising funds and awareness about homelessness through Campout for Homelessness event

Meeting for Bible Study and Devotionals throughout the year

Encourage and assist with worship involvement – recruiting youth to read the lessons during worship or contribute a Children’s Mintues to the worship service and helping youth with special contemporary music they would like to share with the congregation

Christian Youth Fellowship through fun activities – downhill skiing, amusement park, swimming, bowling, roller skating, and campfires

Creating opportunities for youth the raise funds to use towards Bible Camp, Boundary Waters trips, or Mission Trips.

There are 3 Leagues within the Luther League divided by grade:

Little League – grades 3 – 4, Junior League – grades 5 – 8, and Senior League – grades 9 – 12

The current members of the Luther League Committee are... Anne Schroeder, Dawn Anderson, Missy Gregor, Becki Lundquist, Erin Krautkremer, Jill Vargo and Karen Vlasak.
